Pharyngeal Pumping Assay

C. elegans feeds by utilizing its pharynx, a neuromuscular organ that functions as a pump
connecting the mouth to the intestine. The pharynx muscle contracts to draw in bacterial food and then pushes it into the intestine. The rate of pharyngeal pumping serves as a key indicator of food intake in C. elegans.
